Terms of Use

Thanks for supporting our small business. We are a small team of dedicated, busy humans who take pride in our work, and we aim to treat our customers the same. Below, you may read through our various Terms & Conditions which we’ve attempted to craft in a fair and reasonable manner, free from confusing legal jargon.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns regarding these policies or the products and services offered by Tapspace Publications, LLC, please contact us. We would like to promptly address any issue.

Payment Options
Credit Card

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Our website uses the latest standards in secure encryption for placing credit card orders. For security purposes, the billing address you use on our website must exactly match the address where your credit card statement is sent.

Apple Pay/Google Pay

If your browser supports the express checkout methods of Apple Pay or Google Pay, you may use those forms of payment to complete purchase transactions on our website.

PayPal

If you select PayPal as your payment method, you will be brought to a PayPal login where you can complete your payment via your PayPal account. Please note that PayPal “eCheck” orders (orders funded by the buyer’s bank account) will take longer to process since we have to wait for the eCheck to clear.

School Purchase Orders/Quotes

Schools within the United States may order our products using an official school purchase order (PO). When you arrive at the Checkout window, you can choose “Purchase Order/Quote” as a payment method. You will receive an email receipt with the full cost of your order which you can treat like an official quote.

An official school purchase order must be submitted in order for your order to be fulfilled.

For fastest processing, POs may be emailed to us directly at orders@tapspace.com.

POs may also be sent by snail mail at:

Tapspace Publications, LLC
ATTN: Purchase Orders
4010 NE Hancock St, Suite 2
Portland, OR 97212

Orders received using the Purchase Order/Quote payment method will not be processed until we’ve received the corresponding PO paperwork. You must be an accredited institution to use this payment method.

Upon receiving your purchase order, we will ship your requested products, and bill you directly on a Net30 basis. Purchase orders must be generated on official forms from the accounting department of the institution and must include a billing address, shipping address, P.O. number,  contact name and telephone number(s), and email addresses.

Purchase Orders are only accepted from domestic institutions in the USA. Schools or institutions outside of the United States will need to prepay for the order with a credit card or PayPal payment.

Shipping & Delivery Time

We work from 9am to 4pm (Pacific time) Monday–Friday (excluding holidays). Our shipping department is run by humans in Portland, Oregon’s Hollywood district (USA). Orders for physical items received after 12-noon (Pacific time) will ship out the following business day.

For shipments within the United States, we offer the following shipping methods which will typically be fulfilled either by USPS or UPS:

  • Standard (3-6 business days)
  • Priority (2-3 business days)
  • Express (1-2 business days)

If you have shipping needs other than what is offered through our website, please call 1-503-288-6080 and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

*Delivery times provided during checkout are estimates only.

SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

While our website does support shipping to many countries outside the USA, it isn’t set up to ship to every country. If shipping options to your country are not supported, we apologize for this inconvenience.

If you are based outside the USA, we recommend you check to see if we have an international dealer near you. Shipping to non-US addresses can often be much faster and less expensive through one of these dealers.

Shipment Errors

If your shipment is returned “Undeliverable” due to an address error, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you to resolve it. Omissions or errors in the shipping address provided by the customer will be the customer’s responsibility, and an additional shipping fee may be required. Shipping errors on the part of Tapspace will be resolved as quickly as possible at no additional charge.

License Terms: Sheet Music

As the purchaser of any Tapspace sheet music product, you are legally required to follow the licensing terms outlined below. As musicians, teachers, and percussion junkies ourselves, we have structured these guidelines to be reasonable and fair. By purchasing music on the Tapspace website or through a dealer, you are giving legal consent that you agree to these terms and will adhere to them. We thank you in advance for respecting these terms and encouraging your colleagues, students, and friends to do the same.

For your convenience, we offer both physical and downloadable versions of most items in our catalog. The following license terms apply:

SINGLE USER PRODUCTS

These are intended for individuals only, not groups. Some examples of single-user products:

  • percussion solos
  • solo compilations
  • method books
  • score-only variations (for adjudication or perusal)
  • single user (i.e., snare or tenor only) marching percussion products

Purchasing a single user product in physical format allows you to use the book or sheet music for your personal enjoyment or to perform publicly. You may not photocopy, scan, or otherwise reproduce such products unless permission is specifically granted. You may load any included audio and/or video recordings onto your computer or device for live performance or your own personal use.

Purchasing a single user product in digital format permits you to print the sheet music, or use it on a tablet or other device for your personal use only. Similarly, you may load any included audio and/or video recordings onto your computer or device for live performance or your own personal use.

ENSEMBLE PRODUCTS

These are designed for individuals OR groups. Both score and parts are included. Our license for ensemble products applies to:

  • ensembles of any kind (concert, marching, steel band, concert band, duets, chamber music, etc.)
  • ensemble or duet compilations

This license allows you to print the score for yourself (or the director/teacher/etc.) and the parts for the students/performers. These may be used for private or public performance. You may load any included audio and/or video recordings onto your computer or device for use live performance, reference, or your own personal use.

Important:
  • It is unlawful to otherwise share the music you purchased outside of these terms. We kindly ask that you not share the music outside of your ensemble (in the case of an ensemble product license) or host on the internet or any cloud-based platforms, regardless of password-protected sites. Please do not share solo music for any reason.
  • You are also not permitted to repurpose the sheet music, audio and/or video recordings as part of an audition packet, method book, or scholastic preparatory packet without permission or a proper license agreement.
  • Our sheet music titles may be performed publicly without any need for a performance license. We kindly ask you to share your concert programs of public performances with us. It costs you nothing, and helps composers earn eventual performance royalties via ASCAP, BMI, or similar. Thank you for this extra consideration!

Note: Downloadable music and software purchased at test.tapspace.com is NOT FOR RESALE.

Licensing, Arranging, Publishing, and Performing

The bulk of our catalog is available for use beyond public performance. Learn more about our catalog and how to go about licensing or arranging Tapspace music, or how to go about submitting your music for publication consideration

If you have any questions about these terms or wish to use any Tapspace music beyond the terms set forth herein, please Contact Us.

License Terms: Sample Libraries
END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA) FOR TAPSPACE SAMPLE LIBRARY PRODUCTS (Virtual Drumline, etc.)

This licensing information shall constitute the full and complete, legally binding licensing information for sample library products (i.e., Virtual Drumline™) by Tapspace Publications, LLC, and you, the end user. Please be sure to read this entire agreement completely and carefully.

The Most Important Licensing Thing To Understand:

THE SOUNDS IN THE SAMPLE LIBRARY DO NOT BELONG TO YOU – THEY ARE LICENSED TO YOU. By purchasing a sample library like Virtual Drumline, you have purchased a license to use the sounds in your own musical production or public performance. Unless a site license or valid multiple-license version was purchased, sample libraries are single-user products. Only the individual person who registers the product is permitted to use it. You are strictly prohibited from sharing your license with any other individual or organization by any means or manner.

What you CAN do...

You are welcome (and encouraged) to use these sounds in conjunction with any of your other sounds for the purpose of creating musical compositions (commercial or noncommercial) and/or recordings without any need to pay Tapspace (the owner of the sounds) or request permission regardless of how many times your recordings are sold or broadcast. Record your compositions as many times as you like. Share your recordings with your colleagues, students, friends, loved ones, pets, etc.

What you CAN’T do…

Tapspace Publications, LLC, is the sole owner of every recorded sample in this product, and you are absolutely forbidden to regenerate, duplicate, copy, upload, transfer, sell, download, distribute, reissue, or resell any portion of the enclosed sounds in any way to anyone. Furthermore, you are forbidden from modifying any of the sounds in this package for the purpose of selling, trading, or redistributing in any way. You may not rent, sell, give, auction, share, loan, trade, or reissue this library (by any means or manner) in any portion, complete or incomplete, to anyone. Do not sell, manipulate, or share these sounds in any way electronically or in any physical form.

Additional Sample Library licensing terms:

(1) The Licensor grants to you a nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the software in accordance with the documentation, subject to the terms of any educational or other discount, offer, or scheme which the Product may have been obtained under. Some components of the software may be subject to separate license agreements which you will need to agree to in order to use them.

(2) If the Product is a Single Copy, you may install the software on a single computer. You may also install a second copy on one additional computer, provided that you ensure that you are the only person who uses the software on either computer and that the software is never used on both computers simultaneously.

(3) If the Product is a Stand-Alone Site License, you may use the Software only as a non-networked application and only on the licensed number of computer terminals located in a single geographical site. For example, if you purchased a 5-User Lab Pack, you are permitted to install and authorize the software on five computers (and only five) in that one geographical location. Site License versions are not permitted to be used in more than one geographic location.

(4) If the Product is a Network Copy, you may only install the Software on computers on a single network and in a single geographical site (unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Licensor), and may use it on no more than the licensed number of computer terminals simultaneously. Any further use is prohibited.

By loading and installing our sample library product, you are agreeing to the terms of this agreement and will be legally bound by them.
