Here We Are by Brian Mueller is an energetic percussion ensemble piece for mallet instruments and rhythm section, originally composed for the 2021 Middle Tennessee State University Front Ensemble. Conceived as a fun “lot tune,” it also works well as a pop-inspired concert piece.
Scored for glockenspiel, xylophone, vibraphone, marimba, electric piano, guitar, bass, drumset, and congas—with optional auxiliary percussion—this piece allows for flexible doubling and adaptation to ensembles of various sizes. Optional improvisation opportunities, including a guitar solo, add to the piece’s lively and spontaneous character.
