Carson Chlup (b. 2003) is a percussionist, composer, and arranger from Mansfield, Texas. He currently studies Music Education and Music Composition at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Carson has premiered multiple original compositions with the SFASU Percussion Ensemble with works such as Plain of Existence, Shattered Hearts, and Negative Space. He was awarded Top Scholar for the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts with his work and presentation on Plain of Existence at the 2024 Stephen F. Austin State University Undergraduate Research Conference.
Carson has performed at PASIC 2024 with the SFA Percussion Quintet and has also marched Drum Corps International as a member of both The Crossmen (San Antonio, Texas) from 2022–2024 and The Bluecoats (Canton, Ohio) in 2025. While at The Crossmen, Carson was Center Marimba for the 2024 season and had his arrangements performed throughout the summer, the most popular one being the arrangement of Aerials by System of a Down.
