Pat Jacobs

Pat Jacobs (b. 1982) is a software engineer and self-taught composer with a lifelong passion for music. Jacobs taught high school and middle school instrumental music for several years before launching his freelance music composition service. He writes custom music for advertising, video games, film, and live performance. He has a particular interest in recording “found sounds” and musically combining them with traditional instruments. In 2013, his composition for solo snare drum and soundscape Alter Ego earned first place in the esteemed Percussive Arts Society percussion composition contest.

Jacobs earned bachelor’s degrees in percussion performance and music education from Missouri State University in Springfield. He is an alumnus of Crossmen Drum Corps and has instructed numerous percussion groups including St. Louis-based Gateway Indoor.

Pat currently lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife and two children.
