Based in Tokyo, Rika Fujii (b. 1977) is a percussionist who is active both in Japan and abroad in orchestras, musicals, chamber music, and more.
With her sister Haruka, she works as the Percussion Sisters Singing group, which promotes contemporary percussion music and holds recitals in Tokyo and New York. They have been invited to perform at contemporary music festivals in various countries, including PASIC (USA), Canada, Croatia, and China, to spread the appeal of these works. She is also a member of the Asano Taiko Cultural Research Institute’s Homura Taiko group, and is involved in the cultural preservation of Japanese drums.
Rika is also a lecturer at the Toho Gakuen School of Music.
