Robert Francis is a graduate of Marist College and received his MMEd from the Boston Conservatory. He has performed with several groups across the East Coast, from orchestral to musical theater to rock. These groups include the Brookline Symphony Orchestra, the MetroWest Opera, the Boston Civic Symphony, and Boston-based percussion ensemble Percussionisms. He has also studied physical theater with Double Edge Theater and has toured with the percussion-theater show Ideas, Not Theories, by Reynaliz Herrera.
Currently, Rob teaches music in the D.C. area and plays for the Washington Commanders’ Marching Band. His composition Tiger’s Blood for percussion ensemble was premiered at PASIC 2013, and has been named “Editor’s Choice” on J.W. Pepper. In 2024, his piece Musou Tsuribashi was also performed at PASIC. Rob released his first children’s album Animal Band in summer of 2024. The title track went on to be a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition.
