Ben Kressbach is a Texas native and began studying percussion at the age of 10. Ben has earned Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Music from Wright State University, where he studied percussion with Jerry Noble and composition with Steven Aldredge. His compositions have been performed at the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) conference, and on multiple ensemble concerts and recitals throughout Ohio.
Ben has performed with the Wright State University Percussion Ensemble at several OMEA conferences, as well as multiple tours and solo recitals in the Ohio region. He was a finalist in the Randy and Nora Paul Young Artist Competition and Recital (where he was awarded second place for his solo marimba performance). He was also the alternate winner for the Benjamin Tse Memorial Concerto Competition. He has performed with Matrix Performing Arts and the Mason Symphony Orchestra, and taught as a front ensemble coordinator for Northeastern High School’s indoor percussion program through multiple seasons. He plans to continue performing and composing as he pursues a PhD in Biochemistry.
