Christopher Bradford (b. 1996) is a Utah-based composer who has received widespread acclaim. Bradford has had works premiered in countries around the world, and his pieces are regularly performed by first-rate musicians. He writes for a wide gamut of instrumentation including choir, orchestra, percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, solo work, and chamber music. Much of Bradford’s work blends the rhythmic elements of percussion music with the lyricism of the choral and orchestral repertoire. Bradford has had works performed in Taiwan, China, Belgium, Costa Rica, and several U.S. states.
Collaborators include the Utah Chamber Artists, University of Utah Chamber Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble, Texas Christian University, Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra and Choir, The National Flute Association, Florida State University Percussion Ensemble, the Salt Lake Chinese Choir, Michael Sammons, Viktor Valkov, Brandon Williams, and Dave Eggar. Notable performances include the Utah Symphony in December 2019, University of Utah Percussion at PASIC 2024, and the National Flute Association Conference of 2019.
Bradford has his music published through various music publishers, both choral and percussion. His works have been professionally recorded and appear on labels such as Noel by the Utah Chamber Artists and Morse Code by Dr. Michael Sammons.
Bradford holds a Bachelor’s of Music from the University of Utah in Percussion Performance and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Speech Language Pathology.
With varying harmonic motion, fast rhythmic ideas, and complex time changes, this diverse piece will compliment multiple programming situations.
