Composer and percussionist Ian T. Jones (b. 2001) writes in an atmospheric, rhythmically driven style that complements itself with colorful orchestration and the use of electronics or electronic-mimicking compositional techniques. His work spans acoustic compositions, electroacoustic pieces, and film scores, and has been performed across the United States and internationally at various festivals and conventions.
Ian is also an avid percussionist and champion of new music—consistently taking part in commissioning projects and seeking out collaborative opportunities. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition and Percussion Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his past teachers include Mark Engebretson, Alejandro Rutty, and Eric Willie.
