Mason Lynass

Mason Lynass (b. 1993) is a music performer, composer, and software engineer living in Seattle, WA. He holds an M.M. from the University of Washington and a B.M. from the University of North Texas, studying percussion performance, pedagogy, and composition. In 2017 he was the winner of the Portland Percussion Group’s Call for Scores with his work Tesserae, scored for 3 or 4 percussionists.

Mason has performed original percussion & generative electronic music, given recitals of contemporary percussion repertoire, played drums in various pop & rock bands, and performed at festivals and concert halls across the country. He has worked as a sound designer, engineer, and music producer with film production studios, independent artists, podcast productions, and other freelance clients.

Mason has been under the instruction of many renowned percussion and music educators including Bonnie Whiting, Christopher Deane, Ed Soph, Paul Rennick, Jason Treuting, Poovalur Sriji, and Charles Corey.
