Shane Mulligan (b. 1994) is a Shanghai-based percussionist whose work blends performance, education, and composition. Drawing from a wide range of musical traditions and disciplines, his music is known for its vibrant textures, driving rhythms, and thoughtful integration of groove and color.
As a performer, Shane has appeared on several of China’s leading contemporary music platforms, including Liaoning Spring at the Liaoning Grand Theater and the Future Masters series at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center. He has also served as a judge for international competitions such as the Bright China International Music Competition, the Asia Music Competition of Taiwan, and the IPEA Elite Percussion Competition. His own mentorship has supported national-level student achievements throughout China in both solo and ensemble performance.
Shane co-directs the percussion program at Global Music School in Shanghai, where he oversees a vibrant studio and multiple ensembles across the city, remaining active as a performer, educator, and mentor.
